Job Description:
Regional Mechanics Commodity Specialist:
- Conduct technical reviews of part designs and engineering specifications to ensure suitability for production
- Analyse customer data to ensure mechanical parts suitability for production and determine the best quoting strategy during RFQ
- Identify potential issues or cost-saving opportunities for HLA parts
- Estimate HLA cost based on materials, labour, production methods, and other relevant factors
- Evaluate supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and alignment with project needs
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and quoting teams to ensure quotes align with both customer expectations and internal capabilities
- Oversee new HLA implementation in the manufacturing process (onboarding)
- Identify and develop new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and lead-time requirements.
- Be part of vendor development activities, including quality assessments, audits, and performance reviews.
Costing & Negotiation:
- Drive cost negotiation processes with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing for components.
- Use expertise in cost analysis, including labor, material, and tooling costs, to ensure cost-effective sourcing decisions.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives using Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) techniques to optimize product cost while maintaining quality and functionality.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing, quoting or related fields. (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication) or experience in sourcing mechanical commodities (Sheet Metal, Machining, Stamping, Plastics) in EMS industries. (Aerospace, Defence, Medical and Industrial sectors)
- Proven track record of vendor identification, development, and management in complex mechanical component sourcing.
- Very good understanding of manufacturing processes like above
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Familiar with ERP system like SAP, IFS, computer office skills.
- Able to communicate effectively in English on a technical level
- Strong knowledge of materials and various manufacturing processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills –ability to work in cross-functional groups, preferably multi-national.

- Salary range for this position is 2600-3300 (bruto). In Kitron salary offer is based on the predefined salary ranges for each position and depends on the level of experience and competence of the candidate.
